The PEI Horsemen’s Curling Championship was held Saturday at the Charlottetown Curling Club, with Team Buchanan taking home the Prince Edward Islands Standardbred Horse Owners Association trophy.

Team Buchanan, which consisted of Stacey Lund (lead), Bob Fowler (second), Cindy Nicholson (mate) and Peter Buchanan (skip), started off by defeating Doug MacGregor’s team and followed up with a triumph over the Paul Morrison Kings County team. In the final they edged the powerful team of Mark MacKinnon, Stephen Quinn, Nick Oakes and Ryan Perot.

More than 200 onlookers marveled at the graceful moves of Stacey Lund and the high speed takeouts of Stephen Quinn.
