The Ohio Lottery Commission took an important step yesterday towards the reality of slots at racetracks.

The Commission voted unanimously to obtain a declaratory judgment from a state court giving it power to approve slots at the state’s seven tracks without further action by voters or the legislature.

Lottery commission leaders also are working on rules, including 24-hour-a-day operation, seven days a week, year-round, with a minimum age requirement of 21.
