Followers of horse racing have sat back and watched over the years as football players, runners, and others that think they can take on the equine breed have sprinted against racehorses. You can now add another to that list.

According to a report on supersport.com, professional French cyclist Thomas Voeckler is scheduled to go head to head with a horse and jockey next week at a raceway in Sables d'Olonne, France.

Voeckler, who is coming off a fourth-place finish in this year's Tour de France, will race on an asphalt track parallel to the raceway's turf course.
