Grand River Raceway announced today the addition of Yvon Giguère to its management team.

In his new role as Pari-Mutuel Manager for the Elora, ON track, Giguère will oversee all tote and simulcast operations, starting March 16.

Giguère replaces long time manager Cathy Scowcroft, who is joining TelePhoto Technologies as Director Of Production Sales & Marketing.

Giguère brings extensive expertise in tote, simulcast and related fields garnered from his 20-year racetrack career in Quebec. A former VP of Racetracks Of Canada and director with Harness Tracks Of America, Giguère held several management titles within Attractions Hippiques, Société National du Cheval de Course (SONACC), and Hippodrome de Montreal/Blue Bonnets.

“We are extremely fortunate to have Yvon join our management group,” said General Manager Ted Clarke. “Not only is he familiar with the regulatory structures and the technical aspects of tote operations, he has a great understanding of the industry as a whole. His desire to see harness racing succeed will fit right in with the core raison d’etre at Grand River Raceway,” said Clarke.
