If owning a racehorse is on your bucket list, we’ve got the workshop for you! Standardbred Canada and the Ontario Harness Horse Association will host a horse ownership workshop on Saturday, September 25 at Flamboro Downs. This workshop is for anyone that is interested in learning about, or getting involved in harness horse ownership.

The cost of $50 includes the workshop, a comprehensive resource package, buffet lunch and racing.

The day will kick off with a tour of a local training centre. A panel discussion including trainers, drivers, and industry officials -- including representatives from Standardbred Canada, OHHA and the Ontario Racing Commission -- will be featured later that morning. The workshop will also include a buffet lunch in the dining room, an afternoon card of racing and a behind-the-scenes tour, including a trip to the paddock.

The goal of the workshop is to educate and inform prospective horse owners about selecting a trainer, the care and training of standardbreds, how and where to buy horses, licensing, taxation and more.
