Jack Young Passes

Longtime driver/trainer John 'Jack' Young of Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 24 at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH). He was 77.

Jack is the son of the late Dorothy and Bill Young, Sr., and the beloved father of Rae-Anne Drouin (Pierre) and Kelly McMillan (Frank). He is the loving 'grandpa' of Jenae Young, Darryl (Brenna) and Cody McMillan, Caitlin and Alyssa Drouin, and the 'special grandpa' Jack to Sarah Toland. He is also the dear brother of Jerry (Mary), Gayeanne Davey (Reg), Tina Behrens (Skip), Reg (Marsha), late Shirley McCrea (late Don), late Bill, and the late Ted (late Sandra).

Jack will be fondly remembered for his quick and witty sense of humour. He had an intense love of horses and is recognized for his extraordinary ability to manage, train and race horses throughout southern Ontario.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at Greenwood Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations made to the Algoma Lung Association, Diabetes Association or ARCH would be appreciated by the family.
