1. A maximum of nine horses shall start in each elimination, the consolation and the final, except in the event that there are ten or fewer declared starters for the eliminations. In that event, the race shall be contested as a single final dash, without eliminations on Saturday, May 26, 2012. In such a case, all nominating, sustaining, starting and supplemental fees shall be added to the $300,000 purse.
2. The top nine finishers from the elimination races shall be the starters in the final. All ties shall be broken by a draw by lot.
3. Post positions for the final shall be drawn following the last of the elimination dashes. This draw shall include the assignment of two also-eligible horses, which may contest the final in the event of a scratch. If no scratch occurs, those horses may contest the consolation event. All horses advancing to starting positions and also-eligible” positions in the consolation event will be confirmed by telephone and automatically entered by the Racing Secretary on the regular draw date.
4. The consolation race must have 8 horses declared in or may be cancelled.
5. All post position draws shall be drawn by lot for all events.
6. If fewer than eight declarations are received for the consolation, the race may be cancelled at the discretion of the Racing Secretary. No purse re-distribution would occur.
7. The management of Georgian Downs accepts no responsibility for accidents or damage that may occur on the grounds except as a result of negligence.
8. No stabling is provided at Georgian Downs.
9. Lasix program is in effect.
10. Purse distribution 50, 25, 12, 8, 5 percent.
11. All races at the distance of one mile.
12. Should the racing program be cancelled, the event shall be rescheduled in accordance with ORC Rule 21.02.
13. Rules of the Ontario Racing Commission shall apply.
14. Nominations must be received from 18 horses or the event may be cancelled at the discretion of the Racing Secretary.
